well, if i may quote some words and response to them

“孩子们,老师的鼻子不见了,下节课再给你们看……” a teacher’s humour is conveniently twisted to proof the author’s point. red herring?

“…但学生能从中获得多少知识的沉淀?” if this is the case, it only indicates the improper use of ICT. so shouldnt it be the teachers’ at fault, and not ICT?

拿不到分数” most, if not all, teachers know the importance of marks/grades, but teaching so that students can score (此段的基调) is never going to develop our learners for the 21st century.

“踏踏实实从最基本做起” — what is “最基本”? how can he be sure that he is tackling the most fundamental and others are not?

“如果我们的考试制度依然如此” nails on assessment. so once again he’s blaming ICT when he should be blaming the assessment.

“过于迷信高科技手段” well, common sense tells us that anything “过于” usually bring about adverse results. and he has written the entire essay based on the “过于” assumption. i would like to know what is 过于 and what is not 过于, how and why we define it that way. otherwise the whole argument is not going to be able to stand at all.

I guess it’s a reality check for educators who are passionate about education technology. Teachers need to unlearn, learn and relearn when it comes to meeting learning needs of digital learners.

    give me a 5 英雄! ^5 + ^5

was talking to a supt this afternoon at the NZ event. i opined where using ICT in the classroom is concerned, you just have to start somewhere and treat it as a journey and learn along the way. and there’s no “end point” per se, cos ICT, in itself, is forever advancing. so what you mentioned about ‘unlearn, learn and relearn’ will apply. if 鼻子不见了先生 has lifelong learning-phobia, i’m wont be surprised (:
